Sir Robert Peel Court - MIA Property Group

Project Type: NEC 4 D&B Contract

Client: MIA Property Group

Spend: circa 4M

This project involved demolishing an existing police station and outbuildings to develop a mixed-use building with retail space at ground level and 32 residential apartments above. See aerial image.

Alongside our sister company PMRS, we took over as Project Managers, Employers Agent, and Quantity Surveyors after the collapse of the local Main Contractor.

Despite challenges, PMRS and DQS Consulting successfully delivered the project within budget and revised deadlines due to their excellent organizational skills.

The western half of the site had a two-story former police station, a boiler house, and outbuildings. Four semi-mature Lime trees were also present. The site is in a commercial area with a supermarket, a multi-story carpark to the north and east, a retirement home to the south, and a former garage and car sales yard to the west.

PMRS managed the project after the Main Contractor went into administration during the pandemic. They coordinated with lawyers, DQS quantity surveyors, and advised on retaining Sub-Contractors. Their organisational skills, honesty, and approachability were invaluable. The project is now nearing completion, and we are very satisfied.
